Archbishop Visits SMA
On Thursday, March 16, Archbishop Aquila dedicated the High School Chapel, now known as Our Lady of Loreto Oratory. The Oratory will house the Blessed Sacrament, and beginning this fall, will be open for prayer and contemplation. After the dedication, the Archbishop celebrated Mass in the High School Forum. In addition to students, faculty, administration, parents, there were representatives from the Loretto Community, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Kevin Kijewski, and SMA Board members. Fr. Marty Lally and Fr. Sam Morehead concelebrated with the Archbishop. Students served as altar servers, readers and processors. We were honored to host Archbishop Aquila and have the opportunity to celebrate this occasion with this beautiful liturgy!

Who's Who at Our School?

Theresa Lorenzo, LS First Grade Team
Theresa attended the University of Colorado and was surprised that college didn't teach her all she needed to know about being an effective teacher. Over time, she has learned that being a good teacher comes from heart and instinct. She believes that good teachers always trust these two things when working with children.
Theresa always wanted to become a teacher.Though school did not come easy for her, she learned how to work smarter, not harder. Because of her experience,Theresa wanted to make learning easier for students. She is proud to have taught students who went on to become Special Olympians, doctors, business owners, and social workers. Theresa believes that some students end up teaching you more than you teach them. From her students, she has learned to be more patient, precise, organized, and compassionate.
