Be a part of creating one of the Gala's most unique auction items! The Gala Committee is now accepting donations of wine for Under the Big Top. When you donate a bottle of wine, it will be combined with other wine donations to create an Instant wine cellar which will be auctioned off at the Gala. Donate one bottle, two bottles, or an entire case!
Like last year, SMA is partnering with Bouzy Wine & Spirits (located in the shopping center at University and Orchard next to Trader Joe's) for the Instant Wine Cellar. Purchase your bottles of wine at Bouzy and receive a 15% discount. Bouzy will hold your bottles of wine and deliver them to SMA for you.
If you can't make it to Bouzy, drop off your wine from your favorite wine shop or your personal collections at your child's school office by Wednesday, March 15. Thanks for your support!
Who's Who at Our School?
Nina Ehrlich - HS History
Nina is a proud alumna of St. Mary's Academy and considers working here to be a dream come true. Nina's experience as a student, athlete, and leader in high school gave her the confidence to pursue the academic field she loved most: history. At St. Mary's Academy, she teaches history and geography in the High School and coaches varsity volleyball.
On her graduation day from Duke University, Nina won a grant to teach English to teens and adults in southwestern Spain. There she fell in love with classroom teaching and learned that she had the ability to connect with teenagers through academics. Living in Spain expanded her world and heart, as her study abroad semester in Florence, Italy, had done years before. Nina's love for geography, history, travel, and teaching led her to pursue a master of arts in history at Colorado State University while she worked as a teaching assistant and was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate Student in history.
Nina is just as busy as a faculty member as she was as a student at St. Mary's Academy. You'll find her in AP classes, on the volleyball court, and supporting the prom committee and student council. Her students drive her to be her best every day and she considers her role in shaping their futures to be important, rewarding work. Nina hopes their lives will reflect the values instilled in them at St. Mary's Academy, and that they will always consider this place their home. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!
Off campus, Nina loves spending time with her family, friends, and puppy, playing sports, and enjoying the surrounding wilderness.
SMA's fifth graders and fifth graders from other Catholic schools attended Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The Most Rev. Samuel J. Aquila presided at the Mass and Father Marty Lally was among the school chaplains participating. Many students were in awe of the beautiful architecture and stained glass.
