Sara holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology from St. Anselm College, a master's degree in teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University, and a certificate in teaching secondary social studies. She is the Athletics Assistant and a coach at St. Mary's Academy.
Sara fell in love with teaching middle school social studies, finding it to be both challenging and rewarding, yet she always felt a calling to return to sports. (Sara was a Division II field hockey player and two-year captain of her team.) Through physical education and coaching, she found her passion for educating youth about the importance of leadership, perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication. At St. Mary's Academy, Sara enjoys interacting with all three schools through physical education and athletics. She maintains relationships with her athletes off of the field by participating in field days, health fairs, field trips, and retreats.
Sara is an avid outdoorswoman and loves sharing her experiences teaching yoga, hiking in the mountains, and backcountry skiing with her students. Sara believes a love for sports and nature helps to nurture citizens who are environmentally aware, compassionate friends, and willing to work professionally as a team.
