High School Renovation and Campus Landscaping -
Our project team has been working long hours to fit this substantial HS renovation project into the short weeks of summer.&nbnbsp; We are down to the final days and so excited to show it off to the community in the very near future. Expect to see the HS girls enjoying the new dining room and patio right after Labor Day.
The renovated areas of the HS include:
a new dining room with attached patio and AV capability
a college counseling suite
two multi-use rooms
a hallway allowing traffic to circumvent the forum
AC in the southeast wing of the building
upgrades to the east hallways and east classrooms including drywall, paint, carpet, lighting, window blinds
new carpet in the upper north and west hallways
a new suite for The Challenge Foundation
a fire sprinkler system has been installed in the renovated areas
We welcome our community to share in the excitement of these new enhancements. We will be hosting several events in our new and improved spaces this fall so look for more information in the very near future!
Phase 1 of our xeric landscape plan is in full swing. Each phase will reduce the amount of sod on campus so over time we are using less irrigation water while maintaining the striking beauty of our campus. We expect that project to be wrapped up by about mid-September.
Thank you to everyone who attended the annual Alumnae Volleyball Reunion. A special thank you to Laura Grisenti de Luna '89, who sponsored the event. Forty alumnae and their families, as well as current SMA volleyball players, gathered in the BESC for three fun but competitive games. The alumnae put up a strong fight but in the end the current players were victorious, taking two of the three games. Afterwards, everyone gathered in the Community Center for a casual dinner and lots of laughs.
