The SMA Wildcats played a great game and pulled off a big Metro League win over Manual last Friday night. The Wildcats were led by 9 points from Allie Lupiba (including her first career 3-pointer), 8 points from Kierstyn Leo and 8 assists from Darby Kelly. Raegan Rynchecky pulled down 11 rebounds to dominate the boards. The team held off a 4th quarter charge by the Thunderbolts to earn a 39-35 victory. The wildcats are back in action tonight at Kent. The junior varsity team will get the night started with a 4:30pm game and the varsity will take on the #2 (3A state RPI) Kent Denver Sun Devils.
Raegan Rychecky is currently 13th in the state and 2nd in the Metro League for scoring. Raegan is also leading the Metro League in rebounds per game. Darby Kelley is 2nd in the Metro League for assists per game.
With two weeks left in the regular season, the SMA Wildcats are hoping to get healthy and hit their peak heading into district play.
