The 2nd annual SMA girls basketball winter invitational tournament was a huge success again this year. A mixture of public and private schools came together for a three-day tournament, which is co-hosted by Englewood High School. Our Wildcats bounced back from a tough loss in the first round with a 54-16 victory over Englewood High and a 49-29 victory over Cornerstone Christian Academy in the Consolation Championship Game. The Wildcats were led by Raegean Rychecky who scored 45 points over the three days (27 coming in the second round game), and Darby Kelley who had 31 points and 15 assists during the tournament. Raegan and Darby were both recognized with All-Tournament honors (Raegan – 2nd Team and Darby – 1st Team). The Wildcats go into the holiday break with a 5-1 record and are looking forward to starting back up on January 6th with a road game at Middle Park High School.
