Head JV Tennis Coach: Michelle Sachs
Tennis has been my passion for over thirty years. After playing a variety of sports, I focused on tennis in middle school. My family and I had moved across the country and I wasn’t making friends due to my shy nature. My mom took me to tennis try-outs and drove off, leaving me stranded on the court. I was petrified, but it turns out, this was the start of my tennis career.
After the first season, I transitioned from the middle school team to competitive tennis through the USTA. By my senior year in high school, I was a top 10 player in the mid-Atlantic region. I went on to play NCAA Division 1 tennis on a full athletic scholarship at Mount Saint Mary’s University. We were the conference champions all four years. During high school and college, I taught tennis at several junior camps, working with all ages and abilities.
Tennis has been instrumental in my life. It teaches you great life skills and is fun. I am delighted to teach tennis at St. Mary’s Academy!
